Rezidence

We are looking for performance artists who are interested to work with the local community.
Divadlo na cucky is a professional independent theatre located in Olomouc, Czech Republic. In our original works we focus on current societal issues and themes. We regularly offer residencies for Czech and international artists, in fields of theatre and performance art. We are now looking to support interactive projects that will strengthen the connections among us, international artists and the local public.
Are you working on a new project and want to get in touch with local people? Do you find it enriching to perform together with non-professional participants? Do you want to widen the perspective of your research by learning about local people’s experiences? Do you want to transform your already existing project into a new shape?
Join us at Divadlo na cucky at a residency!
The call is open for performers and dancers, in groups of 2 to 6 people. We will support four residencies, in the following dates:
June 2023 (if you want to work with adults)
- approx. 29. 5. – 11. 6.
- approx. 12. 6. – 24. 6.
August 2023 (if you want to work with youth or seniors):
- approx. 1. 8. – 14. 8.
- approx. 15. 8. – 31. 8.
You will have the opportunity to invite the local public to join your creative work in form of workshops with up to 15 participants where you can together create, share and learn. The duration of the workshop shall be 2 to 5 afternoons, but it’s open to be discussed. In the end you will have a public performance or presentation involving the participants of the workshop. If you are interested to work with a specific group of people, let us know.
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Transportation fee

- Space for the creative work:
- Black box with dimensions of 5,5 × 7m. There is a possibility to dismount the elevation to make the space bigger (5,5 × 13m). The black box is equipped with a good light and sound systems and a wooden floor with the possibility to cover by vinyl dance floor.
- Rehearsal room with dimensions of 4,5 × 7,6 m, has a lot of natural light, sound system, a possibility to darken the space, or project on the walls.
- Basic technical support during the residency (light, sound)
- Promotion of the call to find participants for your workshops and coordination of the participants and the final performance
WHAT WE ASK FOR IN RETURN:
- Presenting Divadlo na cucky in all promotion materials of your project.
- Each residency will be finished by a public performance.
