Farmstudio – association for art and culture, is delighted to announce an Open Call for the 2022 exhibition projects. This invitation is open to all artists of diverse disciplines and media (photography, painting, performance, site-specific, audio-visual art, stage design / architecture, land art, and others) who are keen to develop their work, share ideas, and become a part of an inspirational network.
The projects will be carried out in Farmstudio cultural center, a workplace located in a unique historical site of the early 19th-century farmhouse in the village of Vysoka. The venue is situated in Kokorin natural reserve, approximately 50 km from Prague. Farmstudio provides the opportunity to use its various workspaces (including the gallery, old house, granary, part of a yard, cellars and more), local materials and tools, plus technical and critical support. Farmstudio is flexible how you structure your time and work . The call is open to group projects, a cooperation of various artists or to combinations of individual realizations. It is possible to come and visit us prior to the residency.
Upon agreement, permanent artworks and environment changes are possible.
This year, again, with financial support for artists!
TWO DATES ARE AVAILABLE:
- I. May 29 – June 5: residency, exhibited till the end of August
- II. September 11– 18 : residency, exhibited till the end of the year,
I. Apply by April 10 2022 for June residencies / II. Apply by May 1 2022 for September residencies …by sending the brief project proposal and documentation of your work (pictures, portfolio or web link) to opencall@farmstudio.cz
Please do not forget to state the preferred date of your exhibition.
Multiple projects will be selected for each date, by capacity and a needs of the projects. The results will be announced within three weeks.

WE PROVIDE:
- Accommodation and workspace at Farmstudio cultural center – free of charge (bedroom – individual or shared, kitchen, bathroom, common room, bicycles, WiFi)
- Beautiful and inspiring location of Kokorin natural reserve
- Professional photo documentation of the work and the exhibition launch
- Workshop equipped with basic tools and machinery
- Local material available (stones, bricks, roof tiles, wood and more)
- Large format digital (photo) printing with member pricing
- Exhibition launch accompanied with a full-day art & culture festival at Farmstudio Open, broad publicity
We provide a basic personal honorary of 15€ a day for each selected project. We prefer new artworks created on spot or at least adapted for it. Personal attendance to the exhibition opening evening is mandatory.
We gladly provide you a letter of recommendation for grant institutions or universities for further support applications.
