CO.LABS
Kounicova 686/22,
Brno, 60200

THE LOCATION:

  • CO.LABS is an open, creative, and independent platform that actively ensures the support, development, and growth of the art sector.
  • To achieve this, it creates a wide variety of supportive programs and open calls (arts residencies, workshops, Open Residencies, the Residential Group Program, the Pilot Collaboration Program, and much more). It serves as an open platform and shared space for independent entities and individuals without a permanent venue – not only for the creative process but also for presenting their work. Alongside its supportive activities, CO.LABS develops its own dramaturgical concepts focused on original projects in the fields of physical theater and contemporary dance, new theater, interdisciplinary theater forms, concert series, and exhibition cycles.
  • The cultural center CO.LABS is an open space for everyone seeking inspiration, entertainment, relaxation, engagement, creativity, and mutual collaboration. In Brno, it provides a strong foundation for self-expression and cohesion across local communities. It offers an environment where people can meet, learn, share ideas, and create together, regardless of their experience or focus.
  • CO.LABS creates space not only for artists but also for the general public, offering dozens of cultural events annually, ranging from theater performances, exhibitions, and concerts to educational and community activities.
  • CO.LABS supports the creation of interdisciplinary and progressive projects and aims for engagement in contemporary social issues.
  • CO.LABS supports young talents, including students and graduates of art schools, providing them opportunities for collaboration and development through its support programs.
  • CO.LABS runs the Residential Group Program for independent artistic and non-artistic collectives, collaborating with them continuously and long-term on projects.
  • CO.LABS operates the Pilot Collaboration Program for independent artistic and non-artistic collectives, opening opportunities for new long-term and continuous collaborations, strengthening the sustainability of the cultural scene in Brno.
  • CO.LABS is continuously evolving and expanding its activities with new cultural and community projects that contribute to creating an open and dynamic cultural environment in Brno.
  • Interdisciplinarity, openness, sharing, and collaboration are key principles shaping the mission of the cultural center CO.LABS – a place where art, communities, and the public meet.
