THE LOCATION:

Since 2020, VZBUĎME VARY has been realising arts residencies in a programme entitled the Essence of Place, focusing on artistic research of the public space and surroundings of Karlovy Vary. We offer the opportunity to slow down at the pace typical for a spa town, and to explore and experiment, develop yourself, concentrate and work in places with a unique genius loci in Karlovy Vary.

We also offer arts residencies in Jáchymov and Ostrov. These are realised on case by case basis should you be interested.
STUDIOS / REHEARSAL ROOMS:
- VÝMĚNÍK: an opportunity to use a shared space at Výměník, operated by our partners PROTEBE live and Cirkus Ceres. Based on prior arrangement.
- OTHER LOCATIONS offered by our partners in Karlovy Vary – based on individual needs.
- ATELIÉR: a small studio adjacent to our accommodation space.
- Ideal for individual artists and couples.
ACCOMMODATION:
- Up to 4 people in Karlovy Vary; at other spaces in Karlovy Vary based on prior arrangement.
SERVICES:
- We support selected projects with a small scholarship, and offer curatorial and production assistance. We address specific requirements individually (such as renting equipment, using the interiors for rehearsals, etc.).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- We seek artistic projects exploring environmental and social issues focused on working with the public space and surroundings of the Karlovy Vary Region.
